Cycling long 3:00:00 [3] 90.0 km (2:00 / km)

Did the long ride this morning rather than doing two long runs this weekend. There were just 4 of us, the viking, shane and dave on the shingle hill-nanima road loop. We encountered some $#%^heads early on, a bunch wearing masters jerseys came out of anthill street just in front of us and proceeded slowly up the federal highway. After we went over the bridge we went past them, then a couple of minutes later they started overtaking and slowing down as soon as they got in front. One of them took out the viking's front wheel, and he did very well to stay upright. After that we sat behind them until they turned off at sutton. There was a good headwind on murrumbateman road, dave said he was stuffed then put the hammer down leaving the rest of us trailing behind. Luckily dave had a massive supply of rattlesnakes whicjh were passed around, we also had a stop for extra drinks at hall shops on the way back.

Small group at bilbys; sanders, mace, nat, fast kate all there. Did 6x800, 2x400 (there were another 4x400, but was feeling a bit sore). The splits were just under 3.00 for the 800s and 1.30 for the 400s. Another warm and fairly humid evening

Orienteering race (summer series) 30:32 [3] 6.1 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: brooks cascadia

Weston park summer series on a cracker course set by sanders. Set off about 1.5 minutes behind acejase, first 7 controls were clean. Going to 7 could hear robw and miss jones sledging jase who'd slipped at 6 - I then led us past 8 and had to double back to the control. From there was swapping leads with jase who was putting in a big effort. Managed to get a 5 second gap on the last leg and 13s faster than miss jones!

Proper warmup before the start with jase and grantm and warmdown also with jase and grantm. Then collected a few controls as it was a parawanga event

Running intervals 40:00 [4] 9.6 km (4:10 / km)

Bilbys intervals, another big turnout on a much warmer evening. The set was 8x1km again. Ran a bit more quickly than recently, splits were 3.38, 3.41, 3.43, 3.49, 3.50, 3.54, 3.53, 3.50. Had a heavy breather running behind me, managed to get a gap on him, but then he sped up for the last two and sprinted past with 200m to go.

Running long 2:30:00 [3] 24.2 km (6:12 / km)
shoes: Kayano 16 -red

Another long run - met patrick at sparrows fart for a pre-cockies run over ainslie and hackett hill. The pace was steady but was feeling the effects if yesterday and the early starts. We met up with sanders, grantm, marymac and jla at 8 then heded up majura. I was happy to sit behind grantm who was running quickly after his week off. Marymac took a more direct route but got to the top when we did. Then lots of single track in the pines which meant we didn't have to do ainslie again, just over hackett hill.
Wilburs for a sleeper afterwards is getting close to being a tradition, we sat outside soaking up a bit of the sun.

Cycling 2:20:00 [1] 50.0 km (2:48 / km)

Went home for a shower then it was on the bike for a leisurely ride with jess's crew from the bilbys to lunch at a winery off the wallaroo road. We took MTBs as there was a bit of dirt at the end (it turned out to be about 100m). It was a bit slower starting back after lunch.
