Running race 2:23:56 [4] 25.0 km (5:45 / km)
shoes: Kayano 16 -red

Mt Tennent and Bushfolds flat race. I thought I might have benefitted from a rest yesterday but it was evident from the start that this would be a struggle. Started off running with vanessa, but she was going too fast on the uphill and I dropped back. On the first out and back along bushfold flat I still didn't feel like I was going too well and at the turn only had a short gap on jase, scotty and liz. They caught up by the drinks station and the start of the rest of the tennent climb. By now I'd pretty much decided that the aim was to get to the top, scotty and then jase disappeared in up the hill as I dug in. Eventually got to the fire tower where and had a walk back to the drinks and had a gel. Was going to just jog down the hill but was running with gramps who was taking it steadily down the hill and this seemed to give me a bit of recovery so decided to hang in there and do the whole run. Had the best patch running with gramps going out on the bushfolds section but the little pinch after the turn slowed me down and from there it was just a case of getting back to the finish. 10 minutes back from jase by the end, which continues the run of bad form, don't know if it's tiredness, lack of recovery from kepler/tour de mountains or what. On the plus side was glad I got through the run and the hills would have been good for strength. Rob looked good winning the race and scotty and jase had great runs too.
Afterwards was sledged by jase who was offering a bit of coaching and started by saying "If you were an athlete ...". Then there were the pressos where everyone got a bottle of wine. Afterwards we piled into the scotty mobile in search of coffee, lanyon was closed, then we tried to find somewhere rob knew in tuggo but took the wrong turning in the town centre so ended up in chifley at a bite to eat.

Running intervals 27:00 [5]
shoes: Kayano 16 -red

Thursday ints with gary, mace, fatrat, fast kate, liz and one other. We did 2 bike tracks (1.30+) then 4 gate-to-gates (5.00+) and another a bike tracks. Fatrat was going quite fast, but I did manage to just stay in front of liz. Still really humid so was struggling by the 4th gate-to-gate

Orienteering race 34:27 [3] 6.2 mi (5:33 / mi)
shoes: brooks cascadia

Mulligans flat, legs were really stuffed so just plodded round. Bit wobbly from 3 to 4 but otherwise navigation was ok. Compared myself to grantm and gramps instead of miss jones (who was handing out orienteering lessons again)

Running warm up/down 15:00 [3]
shoes: DS racer

Bit of a jog round before and the run back down ainslie

Running race (Mt Ainslie run-up) 13:40 [5]
shoes: DS racer

A meeting-fee day so took the chance to do the run-up. It was hot and there was a dry wind so not ideal conditions. Had the Hoggster behind me from the start, he stopped to turn a sign back round, caught up then manged to speed up once we got over the steepest bit of the hill. I perhaps didn't push very hard once we got to the concrete path as I couldn't hear anyone behind which was confirmed at the last hairpin corner. A PW for this course, the only good thing was that I didn't get beaten by miss jones as well.

Tried to back up by going to bilbys. The set was an 800m zigzag on reid ovals. I was feeling the heat straight away and after 4 had had enough.

Running long (Cockies long run) 1:40:00 [3]
shoes: Kayano 16 -red

Did contemplate doing a bit of a pre-run but had brekky instead and turned up at 8. Jase had impressively run from cook via dreaded's and grantm had been taping controls for 5 hours. Good group today which will be listed on grantm's trog. Legs felt a bit sore, probably from the ride yesterday but went reasonably well up majura with grant, although it was good that we met ria near the top so got to slow down to talk to her. Then a shortish time in the pines before going back to HH then up ainslie. I began to tire in the second half of the ainslie climb and was worried that jase was going to catch up but I'd had enough of a head start at the bottom that he didn't.
Wilburs afterwards for the usual breakfast, had to remind them to make my coffee which earnt them a black mark
