Running race 1:31:10 [4] 20.0 km (4:34 / km)

2 peaks (Majura-Ainslie). A bit of a struggle to feel awake for this one, luckily John Harding had reduced the number of distances on offer and the 3 peaks was no more. Set out fairly solidly up majura and had robw and bigd in sight. My legs weren't up for the majura descent and having racing flats on didn't help matters, so lost a lot of distance here. From there tried to keep moving along as fast as possible, but my legs felt really dead so it was a slog along the campbell park section. Got in front of john fleming again on the way up ainslie, but it was temporary as he went past again at the bottom of the descent. It was good to get in the 12k runners later in the course and have little targets to aim for, and I didn't feel like my speed was dropping too much towards the end. Not too bad a run in the end, comfortably ahead of hoggster, vanessa and plastic and great running conditions. Looking forward to the arrival of 2 new pairs of shoes from wiggle very soon, I think the DS racers have pretty much had it.

A very pleasant evening for intervals, but just a small group there, gary, guy, liz, eliza and two others. Just did the short set of 4x 600(200), 4x 300(100) as taper for the 2 peaks.

A good evening to be running and legs felt reasonably good. We sat around stretching and chatting for a lot longer than we do in winter.

Instructions after steroids was to take two days off, so no intervals tonight. Seemed like sitting was a bit easier today so maybe the injection worked

Went for an ultrasound on my dodgy hammy this afternoon. This involved some standard ultrasounding followed by the doc sticking a needle in my butt to find the problem bits, then injecting a load of steroids. The diagnosis was cluneal nerve irritation which apparently is something that you're at risk of if you have low body fat. Better eat more chocolate :)

The cockies sunday run with grantm, grant, hoggster and acejase. Marymac was there too but doing her own run. Surprisingly acejase and hoggster were on time so we got started at 8am. Up majura via the triple tri track then into the pines for quite a long time where we learnt about grant's trip to cooma hospital to have a splinter removed while Grantm proved that it is possible to have a laughing fit and run - just. Eventually we went over hackett hill where hoggster headed back to the cars while the rest of us went up ainslie and back via the tricky track. To wilburs afterwards for brekky.
