Running 55:44 [3] 10.82 km (5:09 / km)
shoes: Kayano 17

After a week of no running I thought I'd better do something so waited until the warmest part of the day when it was at least 8 degrees. Ran to Farnley and then to the Dob park turnoff then back. All on the road as the footpaths looked rather muddy and I didn't have grippy shoes on. There was an icy wind which made it hard work but it was a clear day so the views were good.

Note

Last day in Grindelwald, it was a bit warmer but still snowing up the mountain. Didn't attempt the t-bar again so just cruised at schreckfeld.

Note

Another day of snowboarding - it was still snowing constantly so the snow was great but the visibilty was still awful. Went to Streckfeld in the morning which was better than yesterday apart from stacking when I ploughed into a massive snowdrift on a t-bar. Only option was to walk down the lift line as either side was sinking powder. Over to mannlichen in the afternoon which was better again, but went off a run and got bogged in another massive drift and had to crawl out.

Note

Snowboarding - it was snowing all day so couldnĀ“t see very much so there was a lot of guessing where the ground was. Have already had too much rosti and gluhwein.

(rest day)

Travelling to switzerland - I seemed to get a leg good massage lying down on the plane so my legs felt surprisingly good when I got here.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3]
shoes: Kayano 17

Some token running round the ovals with acejase to warm up.

Running race (tour de ridges) 1:39:36 [3] 21.06 km (4:44 / km)
shoes: Kayano 17

When you're driving through civic as the clubs are emptying you know you're on the way to the tour de mountains, or tour de ridges as it's now called. Another good morning for running ie quite cool and a big but not so high quality field. At the start I was behind the xc ski dude from deep space and got ahead at the end of the first climb. My legs were not all that fresh after a tough week so it was no surprise when john Fleming passed as we went under long gully road. From here I was not pushing too hard, just keeping a steady pace. Had the gel that I hadn't lost from my bike shorts at the drinks stop before the last climb. I enjoyed the last 5 km as there were a few 10 km runners going by the other way but no one on my course so it was a nice cruise along the flat. Not too bad a time, good run from acejase who had lifted the pace at the end and was a minute back from me.

Running warm up/down 5:00 [3]
shoes: Kayano 17

Token warmdown shuffle with acejase, hope it stops my legs seizing up on the plane.

Afterwards went to Shannon, grant and zaf's for cockies breakfast. Good to see lots of cockies there, pancakes and coffee were yummy.
