Running race 36:06 [4] 10.0 km (3:37 / km) +11m 3:35 / km

Runners shop 10km. Was feeling a bit sluggish so didn't have much of a plan, just keep it steady at the start and try and bring it home strongly. The course was a bit modified where the bike path got washed into the lake so there was a little climb to the road. Got to halfway in 18.06, was moving OK but didn't feel like I was really flowing but was gradually overtaking people and not getting overtaken which was a good sign. Tried to pick it up in the last 2 km, although this was into a headwind. At the 9km marker I was on 32.25, so thought I might make 36 minutes, but in the end was just outside. I thought this might be a pb, but turns out it was 30s off, so just a years best.

Hadn't done hills for a while so did the old north lyneham hills set. Struggled a bit to get going but did warm into it. Pretty short session, time includes running there and back from home.

Time to get back to a bit of marathon training, so did the early start to the long run. Managed to get 40 mins in going over the saddle into campbell park then round the back of HH and the GMFT. Just BigD and the Hoggster waiting at the carpark, up majura first the down into the pines which was out of the biting wind. We ran on the single track for a surprisingly long time before hoggster pulled the pin, partly as it was the last chance to run on the lower area before it gets felled to make way for the majura parkway. Then halfway up majura again to get a bit of extra time in. Pretty steady run, but good to get over 2 hrs.
Deli marx after, a bit of slowness with my coffee, but not straying into banning territory.
