Cycling 2:30:00 [3] 75.0 km (2:00 / km)

Bilbys saturday ride, on the way got nailed by a maggie on miller street, then another on macarthur. The ride was wallaroo road with a small group no doubt put off by the impending rain. It was OK until we got out of wallaroo road, but then the rain got worse so we were pretty soaked by the end of the ride. There was no enthusiasm for doing any extra distance at the end. Warmed up with veggie burger at the rainbow dream and extremely large coffee.

Lunchtime ACTrun 2 bridges with puffy and flan. There was quite a bit of jungfrau and kepler talk, it was surprising there was much talking at all as the pace was quite lively

Thursday intervals at UC, just a few of us there tonight. Nice that the lights were on for us even though there were no soccer players there

Running intervals 18:59 [4] 5.07 km (3:45 / km) +1m 3:44 / km
shoes: lunar racer+

The ints were laps of the lit oval with a one-side recovery. Legs were toast from tuesday so just did 8, happy enough with the pace in the end

Second day of kepler training, which was a recovery/hilly run at lunchtime. Went over little black followed by a reverse doover crackenback, then up blackie with some bits of the circumcision track. A very slow run, suffering a bit from yesterday's ints I think.

Bilbys warm up warm up/down 26:05 [3] 2.2 km (11:50 / km) +1m 11:48 / km
shoes: X-talon 190

Back to dickson for bilbys, shorts and t-shirt weather at the start of the session. And to celebrate being back at dicko we did the full bells and whistles bilbys warm-up

Running intervals 37:59 [4] 10.18 km (3:44 / km) +1m 3:44 / km
shoes: X-talon 190

Time to kick off the kepler training, and the 8x 1km(200) was a good way to start. Aim was to be a bit slower than usual but do faster recoveries, but they turned out to be a bit too quick at the start and the recoveries got slower. Pressed wrong buttons on the watch for no 3, but think it was similar to the one before. Luke complained that I was going too fast in the recoveries, so he and jack couldn't catch up during the intervals. These were done in lane 2 as the inside lane of the track is basically a ditch.

Running warm up/down 6:07 [3] 1.13 km (5:25 / km)
shoes: X-talon 190

Quick big lap warm down at the end

Mountain bike 1:00:00 [3]

Rode to the lab and back along the ridges and blackie, struggled on any uphill bits. Probably need a good sleep after getting up at 5am this morning to catch the flight back to Canberra.

Orienteering race 1:06:06 [3] 6.3 km (10:30 / km) +220m 8:56 / km
shoes: Oroc 340

Aus relays at Littlechild creek, I was first leg of the ACT 2nd team with Rohan and Geoff. I had this idea that the map would be like yesterday without the tin mining and therefore easier... I managed to start off going in the right direction and got to 1 about the same time as jock davis, although not the same way. Then it was off to the first marked crossing to 2. Looked at the track option to 3 for a second, but then joined jock and a victorian heading straight across the marshes. Was very surprised to see BigD and the lead pack come in after I'd punched. Took the line to the island in the marsh heading to 5, but then stayed too far left instead of heading high up the next hill and stuffed around looking for 5. Went too far at 7 and spent too long relocating. The next few controls were better but I didn't see the tapes for the crossing after 11 and ended up diving into the green, emerging at the other side of the marked crossing. Was stuffed after that and got round the rest pretty slowly.
