Bilbys cotter uriarra ride. First proper ride for two weeks, and it was a good morning for it. I was feeling pretty good after an easy week and guy was complaining that I was too fast when I got on the front even though I thought I was just going along at an easy pace. Climbed up mt mac better than I have in a long time and was even in front of darren the NZ ear force rider. Most of the bunch headed to condor, but as it's taper time I headed back with guy anna and a. nother. A bit of a long coffee afterwards as we were first there and all the slower bunches drifted after behind us.

Thursday intervals at lake G. Not a very big group, just gary, emily and keith, although nat and guy started late behind us. A set of 8x 3min, I was sort of taking it easy but keith kept upping the pace so it ended up being quite solid. Includes warmup and warmdown bits.

Whistle set at bilbys - my least favourite. 6x 4min with 2 min recovery. Tried to keep it consistent. Legs were a bit tired from the weekend and wasn't helped by the track being pretty soggy from a good watering. Was running in lane 5 so was trying hard to keep up with lance, jonno and guy in the inside lanes.

Running warm up/down 6:36 [3] 1.14 km (5:48 / km)

ACT long at Boboyan divide. A bit of a chilly start and took a bit of an in between route to 1, feeling that the track was a cop-out but the straight option looked slow. Caught the rev at 1, so wasn't too bad a choice. Then saw geoff going into 2, so had now caught up the two runners in front of me. There were about 5 people searching for 5 and I ended up exiting behind geoff. There was a bit of leapfrogging with the rev through to 6. Going to 8 geoff dropped me and I was a bit hesitant into the control but then caught the mini-pack again at 10 where they'd all gone one clearing too far. Was beginning to get fed up of fallen timber by now but got through the 10-14 loop OK. Geoff did a massive face plant on the way to 15 on one of the fallen fences and looked a bit shaken up. We had a vic runner with us by this stage who got away on the little loop (16-17) but I caught him again at the pivot. We ran the rest together, although my main contribution was nailing 19. 14th and just over 2 hours was a pretty good result for me and was 3rd cockie too, seems like I should only run long at 21E.
