Another quick mountain bike ride, mainly bike paths again, but with some bonus fire trial along the base of ainslie (as Cath's on holiday I had Eliza for physio who said fire trails were ok). Got some mud on the bike.

The achilles was still sore after running on friday so gave the tour de ridges a miss and did a lap of ainslie with kylie and guy instead. The pace seemed fairly solid to me so was happy to stop at 60 mins and just do a 10 min cool down while the others made it to 80 mins. Had to run in hokas as all other shoes are worn out or too minimalist, wiggle here I come...

Cath said that I should be able to ride an MTB (but not MTBing) by christmas, so I thought today was a good day to try. After a bit of messing about pumping up tyres, oiling the chain and finding out where I'd put my cycling gear I was off. Decided not to repeat the start of my last ride, so went up to Dryandra St and then did a loop over the ridge, down barry drive and back across the turner-O'connor bike path. Hard work pushing the mtb along but awesome to be riding again, and no nerves in the traffic which was good.
