Running warm up/down 9:55 [3] 1.87 km (5:18 / km) +29m 4:56 / km

Running race (Sri chinmoy cotter 10km) 40:10 [4] 9.88 km (4:04 / km) +134m 3:48 / km
shoes: La Sportiva Helios SR

I'd entered this as it was (a) pretty cheap for a trail race (b) would be a bit of a tester to see where I'm at after not a lot of running and (c) free food after.
Clearly quite a few people also thought it was a good idea as the carparks were full of runner's cars and there was a big crowd there. The 5km went off first, not completely sure about the logic as we were waiting for them to get off the first loop before the 10km start and there was a bit of a delay because of that. At the start tom brazier led off followed by frogga and a bit of a pack that I was hanging onto the back of. The first loop was about 1.8km on footpaths so was quite rapid, I didn't want to go out too hard so was back a bit from the leaders by the end of this. Then it was onto the second loop which was quite a contrast starting with a short technical section along the river before coming out onto a fire trail then through the river (only a few cm deep, but enough to wet your feet) and a short little climb. I had trent, rowan and paul cuthbert in front and gained a bit on the climb and the nice bit of single track that followed. At the start of the second lap I had a bit of a push and went past paul and someone else and was gaining a bit on trent in front but couldn't catch. Onto the second lap and I kept pushing and thought I might have a chance to gain on the sharp hill, but my legs were starting to complain a lot here and even putting in a big effort through the last km or so didn't gain any ground.
Ended up 7th, which in the world of sri chimney is worth a trophy. Pretty happy with the pace and enjoyed the course which had plenty of variety and made good use of the area. Have the series pass, which means a 20km run next time.

Cycling 2:51:01 [3] 72.2 km (2:22 / km) +829m 2:14 / km

Bilbys ride, not the greatest weather forecast but thought it might improve - it didn't but was a good ride anyway followed by shower and then coffee and bacon

Cycling 1:21:04 [3] 43.61 km (1:52 / km) +410m 1:47 / km

Norman in the fast bunch, only 6 of us so not so much chance of hiding at the back. Managed not to get dropped which was a bonus.

Cycling 1:12:44 [3] 39.5 km (1:50 / km) +365m 1:46 / km

Bilbys mugga loop, first frosty morning so had pretty much full winter gear on which means there's nowhere left to go when it gets to -6. Mixed fast/fast-medium group which gradually dropped riders around south canberra

Bilbys warm up 32:12 [3] 2.38 km (13:32 / km) +3m 13:28 / km
shoes: La Sportiva Helios

Running 32:00 [3] 8.58 km (3:44 / km)
shoes: La Sportiva Helios

Intervals, back to x-long on the basis that I'll probably do some kind of ultra event sometime. 8 reps of 1km interval that was actually 950m. Pretty solid pace, but did drop a bit by the end when I was running solo.
