Shattered this morning after another 5 hour sleep night but I had kids club b booked so went to the gym anyway. The pump class was full so I put Fighting Talk on , watched virtual mountain runs and knocked out 6 miles. Longest treadmill run yet. Can’t wait for a bit more sleep.

It snowed for 90 mins today, and they were the 90 mins we were out hiking. Ali got fed up with it after an hour but overall he did well. It was beautiful in the snow but seriously cold!

Family trip out round freshpond.
Alex pushed the double bob to the pond then I took over whilst he did a threshold loop. Some of it mattie rode on his bike so i was super slow pushing ali. Some of it they both rode in the buggy so i was faster but still nothing near quick. A few fast sections after we met alex again. Nice to get out and mattie made a new friend who was also zooming around on a balance bike.

I’d hoped to make the spin class but it was a bad night all round and getting the boots out the house for 8 proved too challenging. We were there by 8:10 but that’s too late. Probably not a bad thing tbh as I’m exhausted so just did an easy half hour of x trainer intervals and listened to the guilty feminist podcast. Then rolling stretching and 5 mins in the hot tub :-)

I’d planned to do 5 miles but at 3.8 miles I got a call from kids club to say Ali was crying. Sped the treadmill up to at least get to 4 then pegged it downstairs.
This must be the most treadmill running I’ve done ever. I don’t like it yet but it is starting to feel better at least.

Had a work meeting in Walpole and it finished earlier than I'd expected so stopped off at the Blue Hills on the way home.
First I had to express sitting in the car in the car park (being a running-working-mum is so glam) then headed up to the top of the ski slope. A lot of slushy slippy snow on the ground made it interesting. The ups weren't too bad but the downhills were lethal. Decided after the first hill i would avoid too much down. Then I remembered that they're not called the blue hills for nothing and i quite like running up hills so I did a few more anyway. Totally lost the trail I was on on the last hill as no one had been on it and ended up doing a sketchy clamber/slide down the hillside. Stuck to the big tracks after that :-) Lovely to get out and really lovely place to run. Didn't see a soul after I'd passed the ski slope!
