Swimming 30:00 [2]

a long time since i used this colour! good to get back in the pool but my arms could tell it had been a while. 200m crawl, 400m crawl drills, 400m alternate 66m breast/crawl and 200m crawl to finish. nice to give the legs a break from running.
also had to beg my way in as bursary had run out.

Running hills 57:30 intensity: (22:30 @2) + (35:00 @5)
shoes: NB 1062

wow this was a tough session.
5 x 3 mins up upperthorpe with 4 mins to get back down. usually had about 30s at the bottom to recover. should shorten the rest next time although quality might go down!
first rep to 271.5, second rep got in a race with the blue bin men and got to gg, third rep same as first. these first three were tough but coped. fourth rep i was struggling and just made it to cass' and legs were starting to go dizzy. 5th and final rep i totally died and only made it to 267.
all these reps weren't as far as the last time i did them but only did 4 then. feeling good now its over plus got some good chat with the blue bin men as they toured the neighbourhood and came past every rep!
very wibbly by the end and very ready for lunch :)

Orienteering (SYO park race) 20:25 [5]
shoes: NB840 trail

graves park. really fun little race with lots of controls to keep me on my toes. had to search for a couple that weren't strictly in the centre of the circle but fun anyway :) super slippery in the woods and slides half way down the bank from no 17 on my bum, managed to stand up and instantly wiped out sliding the rest of the way down on my shoulder. oops, got a bit muddy ;)
RPE whole session: 6

Running warm up/down 36:30 [2]
shoes: NB840 trail

11.30 warm up round the tracks with alex (relatively quick warm up!) then 25 mins much slower warm down teaching alex the intricacies of issom and checking out the controls he missed!

Running 13:30 [2]
shoes: NB 1062

feeling much more spritely today after a relaxing evening and super long sleep :)
left ITB tight today so easy lunchtime jog followed by core and s&c exercises then stretching and rolling around on tennis ball...

Pilates 22:00 [1]

Running intervals (track) 1:00:00 intensity: (20:00 @2) + (3:00 @3) + (2:00 @4) + (35:00 @5)
shoes: NB 1062

2 x {2 x 800 (2mins), 2 x 400(1min), 1 x 200} with 2.30 between sets
hard work! walked and jogged in the rests. really windy tonight and times are a bit random as struggled down the back straight and didn't seem to feel any benefit on the other straight although that side is more sheltered... tried to hit target times but couldn't so just ran each rep as hard as i could. wind eased off a bit during the first two 400s but then picked up again even stronger for the second set.
2.58, 3.05, 1.28, 1.26, 43
3.04, 3.11, 1.30, 1.33, 41
feels great to be back on the track training but a long way to go!
4 laps w/u, 5 laps w/d plus drills and strides
