From L'enfant metro up round the capitol, down past washington monument and the lincoln memorial then over the bridge and along the mount vernon trail through the parks. Had a few photo stops en route :-) Absolutely boiling. 37oC in fact. and high humidity. I originally thought about running all the way back to the hotel, but part way through the parks I started to really overheat and in the end it was a struggle just to make it as far as the airport metro! Drank 700ml water during my run (yes, I ran carrying a water bottle) but it wasn't enough. Sweated a ridiculous amount so probably short on salts too. It would have been another 30-40 mins back so stopping was a good choice. Great run though despite the heat and nice to see more of the sights before I have to head home...

From the hotel in Alexandria up towards the Geaorge Washington Memorial. At the 50:50 I turned left, which turned out not to be the right way, but I snuck through a hole in the fence at the back of a condo block. Cool monument and I only disobeyed the no running rule a bit ;-)
