Orienteering 1:44:00 [3]

W21A course at Foxlow Flats. The term "Flats" was a bit deceiving today, it was much more hilly than I expected. Couldn't believe it was snowing at the start! Brrr! Got off to a good start with number 1, and thought I was going OK to number 2 (a cliff, on a small but steep spur, within a lot of thick green) but when I got to what I thought was the correct spur, there was no control. Seeing as it was freezing cold and I was really wet (and struggling to see anything), I didn't beat around the bush in the thick green today and instead wimped out and carried on doing the rest of the course. I'm not sure what I did because things seemed to match up on the way to number 3 so who knows where I was. Other than that, I had no probs and really enjoyed the rest of the run, it's a lovely area and I felt good running the whole way. Funny to see Devil and Dreaded following each other out on the course too :)

Highlight of the day: as I was driving out of the property, I came across a herd of cows standing on the road... I edged my car forward but they weren't intimidated at all and refused to moove. Luckily a farmer was on his way home from collecting firewood and drove up behind me revving his engine and got rid of the cows. Otherwise I think I would still be sitting there.
Lowlight of the day: tripping over a log I managed to put my hand right in a pile of fresh animal droppings. gross.

Orienteering 49:25 [3]

Discovered that the Saturday O was at black mountain and couldn't resist running it today. I didn't navigate very well but enjoyed the run, especially the long downhill back to the finish.

Cycling 1:20:00 [3]

Rode to/from the orienteering. Felt really slow on the way back, there was a headwind.

Run 50:00 [3]

run at lunchtime, jogged round doover bit of black mountain. Saw two policewomen on horseback and ran cautiously around them. Nice to get out in the sunshine.

Bilbys 1:00:00 [3]

bilbies, long set of 400m, then 300m, 200m, 100m x 4 (with same distance recovery). Didn't warm up at all, it was the coldest bilbies this year I reckon. No kangaroo on the ovals this time.
