Swimming 55:00 [3]

massive level of cbf re running this morning so moped around for a while before getting my act together with a very productive afternoon followed by a sad sack sunday evening swim at the ais. had a lane to myself so even did a bit of backstroke until I crashed into the barrier. practised using my legs a lot more in freestyle which was fairly tiring. towards the end I timed my laps and did 1'15 and 1'14 for 2 x 50 m. good fun, glad I went.

bilbys learn-how-to-ride-in-a-bunch session. we rode from civic pool to campbell park offices, then round the roads and carparks there practising bunch riding and stuff. It was really fun today. also rode to/from.

Andre took the set tonight which actually was a lot more fun than usual. First we did a bunch of weird contortionist stretches and tied ourselves in knots while stretching our hammies and glutes about fifty different ways. Then the set was a fun cross country kind of run (several loops) round the track and up the little hills. Unfortunately we had to pair up and "race" it - I only managed four with some guy called Richard before my legs turned to jelly and it was all over red rover. And I had to walk all the recoveries today because I was s-t-u-f-f-e-d. Got pizza from ravello's after which was fantastic.

bilbys intervals. did medium whistle set of 2 x 4mins, 2 x 3 mins, 2 x 2 mins, 2 x 1 min. I forget the recovery times. Felt really good tonight. Should probably have attempted 2 km time trial with the novices but I like the whistle set and I don't like time trials. Windy round the top end of the track.

major commute all over canberra owing to total stuff up with carparking at my place. it wasn't too bad actually apart from the wind round the lake at the end and the fact that my legs were rooted after the speedy track session

Cycling 1:31:00 [3]

Rode north along bike paths into belconnen, cruisy kind of pace, lovely views going round black mtn. Only down side was a severe magpie swooping near Aranda - the bugger started going for my shirt and his claws grabbed my shoulder like an eagle (shudder). I tried to outsprint him but it was not possible. According to my cycle computer, this was the fastest bit of my ride! Unfortunately punctured about 1 km from home so walked the last bit on the soft grass up banks ave from weston park. Spent half the afternoon trying to fix the puncture because I have no spare at the moment but gave up after several failed attempts. Had a lot of fun blowing bubbles in the kitchen sink with my busted tube though, when I was looking for the hole.
