Triathlon 52:44 [3]

CPS triathlon at Deakin
My second ever triathlon, wow, what fun today! Unfortunately the race started at 6:30am which meant getting up in the middle of the night and riding to deakin pool in the dark. The race was different to usual since we had to swim in a pool instead of the lake: 1.5 km run, 10 km cycle, 300 m swim, 3 km run. This format seemed to really suit me, I enjoyed it all except for the bike leg because there were too many corners (it was 3 laps of a circuit). Also the pool was crowded, which made it challenging, because I was starting to overtake slow people from the waves in front (I was in the last wave) but it was fun to catch up to the other waves. Happy with the race - triathlons definitely aren't my forte but they're good fun, and quite social too. Lots of bilbys cheered me on in the last run, including people who seemed to know me but I didn't really know them.... Highlight of the day was when Jane came to my rescue by lending me her spare swimming cap because I forgot mine, also thanks to devil for lending me a race belt. Lowlight was pedalling uphill behind a really fat girl wearing a black g string and very low track pants... Bizarrely the race was all over by 7:30am so I was home and hosed by 8!

Run 30:00 [3]

very snappy run round the suburbs this morning - cold and had to get to work

Cycling 1:10:00 [3]

ride to/from work, fairly nippy on the way home, such a change from last week

Run 1:00:00 [3]

still light when I got home, so went for a cruisey run past the GG's place. Thought about dropping in for a cup of tea but presumably she is still in Victoria so kept running homewards.

Bilbys 51:00 [3]

Bilbys intervals. Heaps of fun tonight because of the wintry windy weather. I did the medium set of 6 x 800m with 200m recovery between each. Accidentally came across my watch in my bag today so timed it all tonight. Got much quicker during the set.
3'35 (1'06), 3'29 (1'14), 3'20 (1'20), 3'18 (1'29), 3'23 (1'25), 3'16 (7'47 included a big lap recovery)
warm up = 16'48

Run 30:00 [3]

ran early this morning, seems to be a habit at the moment

Run 1:00:00 [3]

wooo hooo a bit cooler now

Cycling 50:00 [3]

rode to/from work the quicker way over comm bridge. lots of busy traffic through the uni. I prefer riding the long way round the lake but the problem is, it's longer.
