Brushed off the cobwebs (actual cobwebs) of my TT bike and rolled it out of the shed for a bit of a blast. Turns out that it requires a bit of practice on these bikes to make them go fast, and it also takes longer to get to kairaki beach than I anticipated...

Holy moly I had a shocker. Was feeling pretty flat and not really match ready. Good thing I raced around to get in some practice ahead of next weekend. Super hot and humid in the forest today

Back home. Part of the way with Greig, managed to keep above 30km/h for about 10km... then the petrol light came on...and I embarrassed myself for a while as I watched Greig pull away... had to stop at the petrol station on Marshlands road for Ice Block, pie and Coke. Greig kept going while I rested up, then got all inspired to follow the final few kms of the Coast to Coast course into the wind. Not sure what I was thinking...

From wharfdale hut to Black hill hut, then Salmon Creek biv and out to the Waimak gorge. Short interlude to watch someone get winched off the spur into Salmon Creek, out in front of us by the rescue helicopter. Then teamed up with the left over team mates who were one the same mission as us as it turned out

Packrafting out the gorge to the Gorge bridge. Was pretty fun, super stable in the packrafts, actually made the gorge a little less terrifying and almost quite fun!
