Note

I did a bit of jogging around to put out controls for today's event at Fort Leavenworth and then a bunch of standing and sitting at the start and at the registration. It is tiring.

Lessons from this year's Fort Leavenworth/OK co-hosted event:

Good thing that I brought a headlamp to put out the first controls. It is dark at 7 a.m.

Double or triple check that the controls are all loaded in the car.

The mini-course (11 controls, 800 meters, 1:2500 map of the area around Gruber Gym) was a good idea.

Plenty of people show up right at 8 a.m.

Share the specific plans for putting out controls with Connie.

One or two more people to help put out controls wasn't necessary, but wouldn't have been bad.

One other person to help explain SI-punching wasn't necessary, but wouldn't have been bad.

Course lengths seemed about right (800 meters for the mini, 2.5 for short, 5.5 for long).

Fritz was a big help - he ran all three courses (and all three from memory rather than using the map) and was a big help picking up controls.
