Note

A few quick notes from BAOC event/California visit (not sure I'll get around to updating each individual race).

Fun to visit Mary's mom and see kj and bj.

Running felt bad on both the middle and long. I don't understand why.

But, running felt ok on the sprints. I ran out of energy on the relay. But, I was moving/feeling better than I've felt since the PTOC sprint at SarKoPar back in May.

We stayed in Cupertino and has some extra time so we visited the Apple HQ visitor center. The model of the campus and virtual-reality app were cool.

I enjoyed orienteering in the redwoods at Big Basin, but I'm in no big hurry to get back there.

The sprints were fun. I understand what the mapper was trying to do with the multi-level buildings. But I couldn't really make sense of the multi-level mapping. I guessed right most of the time.

Dave Linthicum looks almost exactly the way he looked when I first met him in 1980 (or maybe it was 1981?). It was really good to see him.

We traveled with Simon and that worked out well (at least for us, I hope we weren't too old and boring for him). We had a lot of good conversations, everything from uncles in Mongolia to Denmark's national team sprint preparations.
