| running 10:00 [2] | ||
| A bit of jogging to warm up. It took about ten steps to break a sweat. | ||

| Trail race at Wyandotte. I hadn't planned to do this race, but Mary wanted to do it.
The course was something less than 5 K (the organizer said it was about 2.9 miles measured with a bike wheel and a bit over 4 km measured by a Garmin 305). The course was really nice - we began with a short bit in a picnic area then went into single track along the edge of the lake; the turn around was on the steps at the spillway; on the return trip we made a bit of a swing up the hill away from the lake shore; and then finished back in the picnic ground. The climb was more than I'd expected - the organizer said it was about 300 feet of climb and nearly all of it came over a stretch of about 500-600 meters. I ran pretty well. It was fun. I think I'd run a lot more races if there were more races like this one (5K or so, on trails).

| running 25:00 [2] | ||
| Easy jogging on the river trail. The idea was to get some fresh air and feel like I'd done some moving. | ||

| Eric Buckley would probably approve. I took my mountain bike out on the trails! I did a bit on the river trails. I hadn't ridden off road with clipless pedals before. I fell over once. I was on a short steep hill and near the top I had wheelspin - tipped over before I could unclip my feet. On the second lap I did a better job of holding speed and managed to get around without falling.
The trail was sandy in a few spots. There must be some good technique riding through sand. I don't know what it is. I felt unsure as the front wheel slide around. I didn't fall, so maybe I've just got to get more comfortable with the feeling of the wheel sliding. Lots of fun. At the end of the trail I met a big group of trail runners.

| running 30:00 [2] | ||
| Jogging on the river trail. Nice day for a run, not too hot and low humidity. | ||
| running 10:00 [4] | ||
| 6 x 400 meters with 1 minute rests. Felt mostly ok.
My left knee felt a little bit strange. During the day I tweaked it while walking up the hall.

| An earned day off = 1 point.
A good day to mow the yard.
Sunday Jun 15 | ||
| running 1:20:00 [2] | ||
| A hilly jog at Wyandotte. I figured that I should get started earlier rather than later, hoping to avoid the worst weather. I should have checked the forecast. Running in the nice, cool rain of the afternoon would have been better than running in the still, heavy humidity of the morning.
The breathing trouble I was having yesterday continues, though not as bad as yesterday. I was pleased to see some good results from my O'manager teams. Men finished 6th, women finished 10th, in TioMila.
