Note
I really need to spend some time studying the 101 maps to run on before you die. I took a quick look today...
This is one of my absolute favorites:

The first night O' training I ran with IFK Lidingo was on this map in a foot of fresh snow. I remember being very satisfied that I found my way around a long, tough night course in this sort of terrain.
Another map brings back some fond memories:

Running to/from the orienteering course in Clinton State Park. I carried the map and read it quite a bit. I also did a little bit of off trail running. The cut on my knee makes it a bit uncomfortable to run in areas with underbrush. A bit of mud on some of the trails. I should have run a little earlier when it was a bit colder and last night's snow hadn't started to melt.

We went downtown to pick up Mary's bike at the shop and have a bite to eat at Ingredient. On the way home, Mary dropped me off at the Pioneer Cemetery and I ran/orienteered home from there (night O' on the WC sprint map). Eating just before running isn't really the best idea. But, the food was good and the run was short.

Jogging to/from West Campus. Cold and windy out there. Actually, not so cold, but the wind made it feel chilly.

Night sprint control picking super-short course. I could have used a day off, but I'm so close to being finished with the 31 day challenge that I couldn't take a day off.
To force some concentration and make the most of 12 minutes of low pace orienteering, I decided to talk to myself (out loud) as I ran the course. That usually brings focus. To make it more interesting, I spoke in Swedish.

PTOC Monkey Mountain red course. Short for a red, but that was ok. The terrain is a bit icky - with plenty of thorns. It is still fun, just a bit icky.
I ran reasonably well. A couple of my routes might have been too far around. I was looking to avoid the rougher stuff (like rough open areas and forest).
At the very end I slipped on some mud and went down on a concrete pad at the finish line. Hit my knee a bit hard. Sore and some swelling. We'll see how it feels tomorrow.
