running 50:00 [2]

Ran on the river trail (starting at Mud Creek) with Suzanne A. She's in town for a wedding.

I thought she was staying at the Eldridge Hotel both nights, so I was surprised when she asked me to pick her up at the Motel 6:

She's staying at the Eldridge tonight.

The run was good. Fun to chat and we made the mandatory stop to check out the level of water in the Kaw:

I decided to get out on the MTB and planned to go out to Clinton S.P. But, I heard some distant thunder and the lightning map web page looked like the storm would hit soon. So I just rolled around on West Campus where it'd be quick to get home if the storm hit.

I stopped at Lexington Lake on the way home from work. They've expanded the trail network a little bit. There are also a bunch of mowed paths through some of the fields. I wonder if Desoto is using the mowed paths for a cross country course.

Nice day and I felt good (but was also jogging slowly as usual).

On the Sunflower Nature Park map. Probably wasn't as concentrated as I should be to get much out of the training. But, still some fun.

Easy jogging at Sunflower Nature Park (SNP). I also did a little field checking in addition to running.

MTB cycling 45:00 [1]

MTB on West Campus with 3x Half Ulrik's at an honest effort.

The plan for the day was to squeeze in some training whenever it fit with Helen, Pat, Mike and Pat coming for a visit. But, Helen and Pat lost a day of their travel when their Amtrak was delayed by 23 hours after the locomotive derailed when it hit a boulder that had rolled onto the tracks in New Mexico. Their plans to visit us changed. We decided to visit them at Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. By the time you add in the driving, it wasn't really practical to get in a run.

We had a good visit to the BSPA.
