Note

The last few days in Valparaiso I'd felt a little off. It seemed to only happen in the apartment and I figured it might be some dust or something. But, now I think it was the beginning of a cold.

I don't think getting just a few hours sleep on a 9+ hour flight was helpful.

I'm just hanging out, napping and resting. We'll see how I feel tomorrow.

Note

We had to be at the aiport around 7 p.m., but didn't really have anything planned for the day. We came up with a plan - headed to Quintay to see the whaling museum (Ex Ballenera). It was interesting and a fabulous setting. We also took a walk at Playa Grande. We walked for over an hour and saw maybe 4-5 people, all in the first few minutes.

Note

Slow day. We went to a nearby winery for a tour, tasting and lunch. I'd never visited a winery and I'm not a wine drinker. Everything about the tour/tasting/lunch was great.

Note

An urban hiking day at Valparaiso. Fun and interesting. We did a walking tour where the guide pointed out spots on the MTB downhill course. Watch the race video to get a feel for the place.

Note

Just east of Santiago we did a short but steep hike. Warmer than we are used to.

Hiking at Parque Puente Nilhue - out and back from the trail head to a lookout point. Parts of this were really steep and the weather was a bit warm and sunny.
