Note

Mowed the lawn. It was not more or less fun than mowing the lawn. It was, however, more fun that smashing my face on concrete.

running 30:00 intensity: (24:00 @2) + (6:00 @4)

Run on West Campus. I included 3 x run/walk (2 min run at an honest effort, 1 minute walk).

Temp was around 90F and it felt hotter. I tested another way of carrying ice in my hat. I think it worked ok.

Oh, and my legs felt slow.

MTB on pavement. I did a modified version of the Lawrence Loop plus some extra. The LL was under water at the low point at the Baker Wetlands. I also took a little detour to see the flooded path heading toward Sanders Mound.

I saw a snake under water on the bike path. That was strange. It was under a couple of inches of water - looked alive, but seemed odd that it was there.

Nice ride. I felt ok. Cool temps (maybe 70F) and clouds helped.

cycling 45:00 [1]

Biking to start 1 then to start 2 then back home. I added a bit extra, too.

A short sprint course on the bit of the Daisy Hill map that hasn't been completely changed from construction. A bit of climb.

A control picking course on the main campus. I waved at one control to avoid interrupting a guy walking his scary-looking dog. The temp was climbing and a couple of the stair climbs were tiring.

MTB cycling 30:00 [1]

Mary wanted to go for an easy bike ride on the bike paths. So, we did.

running 25:00 [2]

Short run on West Campus (with 1 x RT).

I tested an idea I have to trying to keep cool before next week's NoLaw 5K. I put some ice in a long plastic bag, attached the bag to the back of a running cap, and hung the bag on my upper back. It felt pretty good to have some nice cool ice on my back. It didn't bounce around too much.
