running 50:00 [2]

Jogging on West Campus. I took it very easy.

They're starting construction on a new building. It takes away some of the forest where my first-ever orienteering course went. It also takes away a little trail I've used all winter.

Mike Shifman designed a course for practice at the Lawrence riverfront park. The map is still a work in progress. I warmed up to the first control and then picked up the effort. Around 40 minutes I was tired.

After I finished I jogged around a bit to look at one or two things. Then I went back to the next to last control and waited to see Mary arrive. I followed her along to the last control, too.

MTB cycling 1:05:00 [1]

MTB on the bike paths. I went out to Clinton overlook. The path between the arboretum and the overlook was crowded with people. Warm day (low 60s?) must have drawn people outdoors.

running 45:00 [2]

Easy jog on West Campus. They've begun construction on the expansion of the BTBC. I think it is a completely new and separate building. It looks like it will wipe out one of the little trails I jog regularly.

My brother's work video today was Peanut Butter and Jelly Danishes.

Note

I went for a walk at Baker Wetlands. Nice. Some spots were muddy, but not too bad.

I updated QGIS to the latest version. You can now open lidar files in QGIS. It works. Now I just need to figure out what to do with it and wait for more tools to develop.

Today was Mom's 80th birthday. I took the day off. A few weeks ago she mentioned eggs benedict, so I went over and made her and Ron eggs benedict. Mom and I hung out in the back yard for the meal. Ron was hosting a Zoom meeting for the Endacott Society, so he ate at his computer. It was a nice, small, way to celebrate a birthday. Maybe next year we will re-do it and get everyone out to NY for a proper celebration.

running 40:00 [2]

I jogged around on trails on West Campus. I thought I was over dressed but the wind was a bit cold and I was just right.

Mom, Ron and Pam all had their vaccine appointments today.
