Running (Road) 31:00 [2]
shoes: DS Trainers

Warmup, or better stated, staying warm by moving. Light mist and 43F made standing around pretty chilly.

Terrain race (Trail) 1:55:13 [4] *** 25.0 km (4:37 / km)
shoes: Oroc 280 (old)

Double Chubb 25K (AKA Single Chubb). Would have loved to run the 50K in such great conditions, but with the marathon so close, I contented myself with running the single at marathon effort. Raised the effort a bit more than that coming in for no particular reason as there were several minutes on either side of me. Mud wasn't bad on the way out. A bit sloppy along the river coming back. Tyson side was fine as usual. Nice confidence builder with 2 weeks to go - I'm sure I could have held that effort for another hour (but probably not the full 50K). 2nd overall. 1st master.

Splits:
24:27 Start to Tyson tracks
30:55 (55:22) Turnaround
30:23 (1:25:46) Tyson tracks
24:10 (1:49:56) Tyson trailhead
5:16 (1:55:13) Chinkapin loop

I wish I'd remembered to take splis at the Lone Elk trailhead, as this was obviously a PR for the trail. Probably about 3 minutes each way from the trailhead to the turnaround and then another 45 seconds or so from the start to the Tyson trailhead. I guess I'll be conservative and call it 1:45 for the Chubb Trail proper, but I think it was faster than that.

Terrain (Mix) 1:10:00 [2] ***
shoes: Oroc 280 (old)

Dropped my plaque and medal off at the car and then joined David for the start of his second loop. He was going fast enough that I let him go after a mile and continued on at a pretty easy pace to the aid station at the tracks, which was manned by Vicki Vojak, Don Hong, and a few other fairly cool folks I consider freinds. Seemed like I might be going a bit too long (the whole point of doing the single was to be able to recover in time for one more quality workout late next week), so I came back cutting straight through the woods.
