Terrain (Trail) 4:25:00 [2] ****
shoes: NB481

LPT on the Chubb and a few adjoining trails. Used the poles again. Unlike last time, my shoulders and back are a bit sore. Not sure if that indicates that I was using them better or worse.

Anyway, the pace (roughly 12:00/mi) seemed sustainable and was pretty much what I'm hoping to hold on the 80 miles that don't include Hope Pass. That allows me to lose 2 hours each direction over the pass, plus another hour in aid stations and still make the 25-hour cutoff. I'm assuming that today's conditions (95F/67dp) were at least as tough as running at 11,000 feet.

It will be close, but I'm pretty sure it's possible.

Met Emily and Erl on the trail. They were hiking in prep for world's. Chatted with them for about a mile.
