Saturday Dec 14

Running (Trail) 30:00 [2]
Warmup/Down.
Running (Trail) 1:00:57 [5]7.5 mi (8:07 / mi)
Yeah, I know, how can 8 minute miles be a 5. Well, this is the Pere Marquette Trail Run and trust me, this was pretty much all out. Followed Dave Frei over the first hill, but then he faded and finished a couple minutes back.

Was 42 seconds slower than last year in what seemed to be similar conditions, but the whole field was off, so maybe something was different. Up to 21st overall (from 31st last year). Won the Clydesdale division (over 200 pounds) again, but would have taken 2nd in 35-39, so this is my best finish at this race.
Note
Hadn't worn my spikes in a while so I forgot that I need to tape my heel when I run in them. They gave me a nasty blister on the back of each heel.

Trail Run - Splits

Friday Dec 13

Running (Road) 18:00 [3]
Moderate pace to loosen up for tomorrow. I'm not nearly recovered enough for a running race, but I'll give it my best. At least we can look forward to muddy conditions on the trail which should slow me down less than the roadies.

Thursday Dec 12

Running (Road) 19:00 [2]
Easy jog round the hood. Right ankle is stiff again.

Tuesday Dec 10

Running (Road) 33:00 [2]
Easy recovery run. Muscles hurt (no suprise there), but the good news is that my knees, ankles, and feet seem to be doing well.

Sunday Dec 8

Running (Grass) 15:00 [2]
Warmup.
Orienteering (Woods) 1:46:56 [4]14.1 km (7:35 / km) +390m 6:40 / km
spiked:9/11c
Possum Trot 6 at Knob Noster (1:15). Managed to stay with the lead pack for the first part of the race, which was a blast. Actually 21 controls, but I won't take credit for spiking the 10 controls that I follow people into. One bad boom on the way to 14 (only 2 minutes, but really brainless), but other than that maintained a good pace even after splitting from the group at half way. Easily the best O result of my life. Finished 4th behind May, Everett, and Eglinski. ST=1340/2060.
