Sunday Apr 3

Running (Mix) 45:00 [2]
Longer warmup than expected because I arrived at the start line without clearing my epunch and had to get a new start time. That mental lapse was nothing compared to what happened next.
Orienteering race (Woods) 1:16:24 [4]*** 8.1 km (9:26 / km) +280m 8:03 / km
spiked:11/17c
Pig Classic at East Fork/Bantam Highlands(1:15). Truly spectacular boom on #1 for over 8 minutes lost. Rest of the run was OK except for a late race parallel error. 6th M40+.

Maps and notes for all three days can be found here.

Saturday Apr 2

Running (Mix) 30:00 [2]
Warmup/down.
Orienteering race (Woods) 39:59 [4]*** 4.4 km (9:05 / km) +220m 7:16 / km
spiked:11/13c
US Short Course Champs at East Fork/Turkey Ridge (1:10). Relatively clean run in the navigational sense, though quite messy in every other respect due to excessive quantities of mud. 4th in M40+.

Red - Splits

Friday Apr 1

Event: Flying Pig IX (US Team Trials)

Running (Mix) 25:00 [2]
Warmup/down.
Orienteering race (Park) 22:14 [5]*** 2.6 km (8:33 / km) +95m 7:14 / km
spiked:11/13c
Pig Sprint at Camp Friedlander (1:5). One big boom on #5 ruined an otherwise OK run.

Sprint - Splits

Thursday Mar 31

Running (Road) 41:00 [2]
Easy lunchtime run with Jeff. Fantastic day.

Wednesday Mar 30

Map Running (Mix) 27:00 [2]*
Jogging from where I parked (at finish) to start.
Orienteering (Woods) 50:10 [4]*** 5.7 km (8:48 / km) +225m 7:21 / km
spiked:10/14c
Test ran the green course for the A-meet at Rockwoods (1:15 - competitors will get 1:10). Another great course by David Frei. Even though I know this park quite well, I had to stay focused. Made one dumb error for a couple minutes, everything else was pretty clean.

Fairly close to competition effort, although I took the sting out of the hills so my legs would be OK this weekend.

Tuesday Mar 29

Cycling (Trail) 1:34:00 [3]
Chubb trail from Lone Elk including the Castlewood loop and flint quarry. The Castlewood loop is a mess because of all the deadfall depostited across the trail from the flood.

Monday Mar 28

Cycling (Road) 52:00 [2]
Easy spin round Forest Park before work.
Running (Mix) 58:00 [3]
Lunchtime run. North to the powerlines and then a couple miles along the powerline ride. Back through the subdivisions.
