Saturday Jan 28

Running (Mix) 35:00 [2]
Longish warmup. Didn't feel very good.
Orienteering race (Woods) 1:40:28 [4]*** 12.1 km (8:18 / km) +525m 6:49 / km

OCIN's BillyPig. Fun course at Miami Whitewater (1:10). Climb wasn't bad for that area. Took it out slow because my stomach wasn't settled. Got into the lead around the third control and was by myself from #5 on. Didn't really start running well until the long leg to 12, but my navigation was OK throughout. Skipped #17 and took forks 4a, 9b, and 14a. Ended up winning comfortably which surprised me because several other folks were going pretty well at the start. I guess they all had booms.

Map and full report here.
Orienteering (Woods) 59:00 [3]***

Control picking course on the more technical terrain of Miami Whitewater West (1:10).
Orienteering (Woods) 25:00 [2]***

Picked up three controls. SI is nice, but it sure makes control setting/pickup a pain.

Friday Jan 27

Running (Road) 45:00 [2]
weight:190lbs
Easy jog after driving to Cincinnati for the BillyPig. Then, just to get in the whole Cincinnati mindset, I had dinner at Skyline Chili. I suppose I could have rolled down a steep hill into some thorns and accomplished the same thing.

Thursday Jan 26

Running (Road) 44:00 [2]
weight:191lbs
Over to Y and back a slightly longer way.
Gym (Weights) 30:00 [4]
2 sets, moderatly heavy, upper only.

Wednesday Jan 25

Note
weight:191lbs
I decided that since my weight is at the top end of my desired winter range (188-192), I should start posting it to incent me to hold the line there.

Tuesday Jan 24

Running (Road) 40:00 [2]
Over to Y and back.
Swimming (Pool) 17:00 [4]
8x100@97 go on 2:00. 1 minute rest between 4&5. Not quite sure where that came from - I felt fine, was just going 5 seconds faster per 100 for some reason.

Monday Jan 23

Running (Road) 39:00 [2]
From old house (SOLD! - but I needed to fix a couple things) over to Forest Park.
Orienteering (Park/Night) 48:00 [3]***
32c
Control picking in Forest Park (1:10) using just a 2-LED headlamp. So little light made finding the features in the woods really hard, but most of it was still pretty fast. Fun exercise.

Sunday Jan 22

Running (Road) 35:00 [2]
Legs are toast - no surprise there. Thought about counting my WOC run in the Catching Features tournament as my training for the day, but finally got out the door for an easy jog.
