Running race (Trail) 4:09:32 [4]50 km (4:59 / km) +880m 4:35 / km
SLUG 50K. 44 laps around a .7-mile loop. One little hill and a few rolls per loop. Nice trail, negative splits, PR, 1st place. What's not to like about this one? Full report (see 11/06).
C • Way to go--a win!

Fun Run - Splits

Saturday Nov 4

Running (Road) 42:00 [2]
weight:175lbs
Easy jog to loosen up before heading to Chamois with Baby-O for a fun-filled weekend of camping and running.

Friday Nov 3

Running (Road) 40:00 [2]
weight:178lbs
Easy lunchtime run with Brian. G value is a bit inflated after a trip to Mangia last night. Worth every pound. Besides, a little extra in the tank for Sunday's 50K isn't a totally bad thing, even if it is just a "fun run".

Paddling (Kayak) 2:01:00 [2]
On the Meremac from Greentree down to Fenton again. River is up quite a bit since two weeks ago so there was more current below the rapids. Failing to account for that had me paddling back up in the darkness. The rapids were moving at pretty much my top speed and it took nearly five minutes to get through the 100m chute.

Thursday Nov 2

Running (Mix) 1:29:00 [2]
weight:175lbs
Lunchtime run with Jeff. Took the powerline both ways this time so we could run a little slower and still be done in 90 minutes. Got to the top of Little CC Lake in 46 again and then we hammered back. He'll probably blame me for lifting the pace, but he started it.

Wednesday Nov 1

Running (Road) 28:00 [2]
weight:176lbs
Over to pool (long way) and back. Rather brisk morning.
Swimming (Pool) 30:00 [2]
Easy swim, just getting used to being in the water again. Included some off strokes.
Orienteering (Woods) 1:36:00 [3]***
35c
Series of control picking exercises at Babler (1:15). Ran each technical section at race pace, jogged easy in between. All the leaves are down, but there was still a lot of light green woods. Map.

Tuesday Oct 31

Running (Road) 42:00 [2]
weight:172lbs
Easy lunchtime run with Jeff.
Note
Hmmm, less than seven hours and only 115 controls for October. That's shockingly low for what is usually our best month in the woods. Need to pay more attention to technique.

Monday Oct 30

Running (Trail) 2:18:00 [2]
weight:174lbs
Knew I'd have to work this evening anyway, so I knocked off a bit early and got in two laps of the main loop at Pere Marquette and then one lap of the finish loop. It's a really pleasant trail at long run pace - there's actually a lot of easy running that gets missed when you're frantically trying to recover for the next hill without giving away too much time.
