Terrain (Mix) 10:00 [2]
weight:181lbs

"Warmup" which had the sole effect of turning my hands into worthless clubs. I went back inside for a while to warm them back up before starting.

Orienteering race (Woods) 1:06:42 [4] *** 7.5 km (8:54 / km) +370m 7:08 / km
12c

SLOC Cold Nose at Babler (1:15) and it sure was cold. Not too bad after the first couple climbs. Set by Bill Langton. Fun course, but some of the controls were really hidden. Fairly clean run with a minute or two lost hunting for controls. Most of the climb was in the last 3K. Legs held up OK, but I'm pretty sure David could run this faster. I had to leave before he got in.

Map.

Note

This just in: Frei ran a 70. Death match at 2-0.

Running (Road) 1:04:00 [2]
weight:181lbs

Warmup (35 min) and some easy jogging afterwards to get the total distance up over 20.

Running race (Road) 1:25:28 [5] 13.1 mi (6:31 / mi)

Frostbite half marathon. PR, although it's only the third half I've ever run, so that's not saying much. Decent conditions with temps in the 30's. Splits were all over the place, partly because some of the mile markers were misplaced and partly because it was a hilly and windy course. My heartrate graph indicates that it was a pretty well-paced effort. I'd go as far as saying this might be the closest I've ever come to nailing the pace in a long running race.

Orienteering (Park) 41:00 [2] ***
20c weight:181lbs

Two sprint courses at Forest Park (1:5) at a pace considerably less rigorous than sprint. This was really just supposed to be a loosen up run for tomorrow, but I figured it would be more interesting with a map in my hand.

3x800@3:14 400R. Pace dial-in for this weekend.

Running (Track) 1:19:00 [4]

8x400@85 200R. Includes round trip to the Sikeston HS track from the motel which is a bit further than I usually jog around a track workout.

Legs felt plenty spritely and I kept running them just a bit fast. I suppose that's a combination of the off day and low 30's and no wind. Fun session.
