A more full day at work followed by classes. At least I won't be accused of getting back to training too soon.

Pre-run, which was actually two short runs: one from the house where I'm staying in Newburyport to the train and one from North Station over to the start to drop my bag before boarding the bus to Hopkinton.

Warmup. I wasn't really planning on doing one as that's often more of a pain than it's worth at big events. However, they had a very adequate warmup track blocked off right next to the corrals and easy jogging seemed like a much better way to pass the time than standing still in the corral. I was surprised that only a few hundred runners agreed. Finished up about 10 minutes before start.

Running race (Running) 3:14:30 [5] 26.22 mi (7:25 / mi)

Boston Marathon. Miserably hot and humid for the first hour. I was about ready to bale on the pace when the cold front finally arrived and saved the day. Felt fine after that; had no trouble holding the early pace through the hills. After that, I was getting pretty tired, but decided 3:15 was worth holding onto, so I pushed through to the finish.

Full report.
