In Louisville to drop Yaya off at jazz camp. Ran to Iroquois Park and back. Includes a couple miles on single track in the park. Knee is still grumpy, but not causing any real problems.

Duck@T. No immediate reaction from the knee. I'm taking that as a good sign. We'll see how much it
likes the 4-hour car trip.

I was already pretty sure that the problem with the knee was a recurrence of the 2013 problem following the Highland Biathlon (which was the final nail in the bike racing coffin). Riding in this morning confirmed that. After few complaints with the first 100-mile running week since last fall, every easy pedal stroke felt like someone was stabbing my kneecap with a screwdriver. So, it looks like I'll be hanging up the bike for a while. The good news is that I ran quite well in 2013 despite the fact that it nagged me for over a year. The bad news is that it nagged me for over a year. There never was a consensus on root cause. The most plausible came from a PT who suggested without sarcasm that maybe 400,000 miles was all that knee had in it.

Mixed terrain from Elks to Queeny. Did the outer road and the new singletrack there. Then back home on grass. Not the scorcher that was predicted, but the 70F dew point made it a worthwhile heat run.

Electric Duckling. Was going to take the day off but, with flood plain weather stations reporting high 90's, I decided to get in some heat training.
