Took Yaya to Drum Corps International champs in Indy. Five hours in the car and six in stadium seating didn't do my sciatica any favors (oh, yeah, that's the problem with the glute, not a pull). Went for an easy walk around the artsy east side to loosen up (and procure coffe) before driving home.

Electric Duckling. Normal pace, no serious complaints.
At Forest 44. Forgot how bad the spiders are here. Despite holding a pretty stout web catcher, I ended up with quite on me. At least I won't have to deal with that at Leadville.
In to work. Glute was a bit stiff at first. Not too surprising as I ran home a bit firmer than usual (though still in the E/L range) yesterday. I guess I'll nix the tempo work this weekend and just run easy next week.
In to work. Glute was very tight after the off day. Loosened up after a few minutes. I think I need to embrace the idea that this thing won't be better in time for Leadville. Currently, it limits my stride length to the point that anything faster than 8:00/mi is infeasible. I don't expect to run that fast even on the pavement at Leadville, but if it tightens up during the race to where I can't run at all, well, that would be bad.
