Pi River Rotation (unofficial). Race was cancelled on account of a prohibition against gatherings of more than 250. The race didn't have that many in it, but organizers feared that spectators and other park visitors might put it over. I think that was unlikely on a day that was 40F and rainy, but I also realize they were in a tough spot, especially since the order came out at 5:30 yesterday evening so there wasn't much time to consider options
Anyway, a fair bit of the field decided to just show up and run it anyway. We had about 50. The RD came by and gave out Pie and finisher awards. It was actually a pretty good day.
FWIW, I didn't bother pushing since nobody was keeping time. 24 minutes for the 5K. 3:56 for the marathon. 2:15 for the half (with lots of walking in the last 3 miles to help with recovery - not that I need to be worried about that as there won't be any races anytime soon).
In Lawrence, checking out the river trails. True single track, so they get a nominal "3" for technical but, as expected, these are fast, easy trails. In great shape, too, though rain tonight will probably change that.
