Running warm up/down 30:00 [1]
Orienteering race 50:00 [4]
#5. Last day. Unfortunately I made some mistakes already on the 2nd (route choice) and 3rd control (form line re-entrant in green area...the only difficult control), so instead of moving up immediately, I first had to catch up the people who had passed me. I did that just before the flat, super open area and I managed to get away from a few other runners (I don´t like head to head sprints when I'm tired) except one who bet me with five seconds. I was 29th on the stage and 21st overall. Five seconds from 20th but almost five minutes from 19th place so the errors on 2 and 3 didn't mean that much. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the week.

Thursday Jul 21

Running warm up/down 30:00 [1]
Orienteering warm up/down 55:00 [4]
#4. After another hard wrestling night with Isak it was time for day four. Less hills than yesterday except for a monster climb (60m climb in 200m) and some fast open pine with plenty of trails. Technically I did a good race too and the legs were the best so far this week. 9th place today and 23rd overall. Top 15 is not realistic but hopefully I can squeeze in below 20th place.

Wednesday Jul 20

Running warm up/down 30:00 [1]
Orienteering race 55:00 [4]
#3. Sweden's Japan. The area or surrounding areas, I believe, was for a while considered to be used for the Swedish WOC tests. In other words it was tough and on parts of the course the terrain was pretty rough too. BTW www.obasen.nu/runoway has all the maps and courses from O-ringen and other events. Anyway, I had planned to start moving a bit faster today but I had a sloppy race, many minor mistakes and my 200-th something place from the last control to the finish line shows my legs have seen better days too. However, it wasn't that bad, I finished 44th and climbed to 32nd overall but it is getting more and more difficult to advance. The good thing with 5-days is that it is always one more day, at least, where you can improve except the last day but then you are just happy it is over.

Monday Jul 18

Running warm up/down 30:00 [1]
Orienteering race 40:00 [4]
#2. Beautiful woods again. Lots of marshes and some short steep hills in between. Legs were tired but I kept it together for most part of the race. 4 minutes behind winner and 37th place on the stage, quick punching is important.

Sunday Jul 17

Running warm up/down 30:00 [1]
Orienteering race 1:05:00 [4]
#1. Woods great. Much better then anticipated. What would it have been without the January storm? A bit rusty orienteering wise and I made one big error. Legs good though despite the long journey. 46th place - will be better.

Saturday Jul 16

Orienteering 50:00 [2]
Ran parts of the 3rd leg from last fall's Smålandskavle. Important to get used to 15000-scale map and the Småländish terrain before O-ringen.

Friday Jul 15

Running 45:00 [2]
An evening run in "my" woods. Always a nice feeling. Tired from the flight but nice to get some fresh air and, most of all, some cooler air. Journey was loooong with no sleep but if you're a globetrotter what can you do...

Tuesday Jul 12

Running intervals 30:00 [5]
Running warm up/down 35:00 [1]
Out and back loop by Dundurn stairs. 12 every 2,5 min (65s out and 55s back). Snipes, Caleb and Hammer were there as well.

Sunday Jul 10

Running warm up/down 40:00 [1]
Orienteering race 15:00 [4]
Japanese sprint in Spring Valley. 1.05 behind Hammer. 2km with 120 m climb.
Orienteering 1:05:00 [3]
One of Katta's courses at Mineral Springs. The climbs and the heat really made me suffer.

Saturday Jul 9
