Orienteering race 1:10:00 [4]
Running 30:00 [1]
An even later decision to go and run HOK's race and I'm very happy I did. Orienteering doesn't get much better than this. Open woods, technically challenging and a good course. Maybe a bit too rocky on the ground to be absolutely perfect. Made a few minor errors but overall pleased with the race. Finished 2nd in M21 but was almost 5 min behind.

Saturday Aug 25

Running 30:00 [1]
Orienteering race 35:00 [4]
Last minute decision to go and run a race in Österbymo. Awesome area. Nice open forest but w/ details. Made one big error, 4 minutes, but managed to take my first M35 win.

Tuesday Aug 14

Running 35:00 [1]
Running intervals 20:00 [5]
Tuesday intervals with Njudung. Very inspiring to run with 30 other people. I taped the foot and luckily we ran mostly on the electric trail which doesn't have any roots or rocks. Last quality workout before WOC and I as planned I didn't go full out, especially not since I had pretty heavy legs at the races the past weekend.
The workout was a 800m loop + 200m slower pace in between.

Sunday Aug 12

Running 25:00 [1]
Orienteering race 40:00 [4]
ESOK. M21E - 5km. Same area as yesterday. Not as hot and humid as yesterday. Another good race technically, maybe 1.5 minutes of mistakes, but I twisted my ankle again and already to the first control. It did bother me and I had to slow down a little bit but I'm pretty sure it was a benefit to my navigation. Anyway, all these ankle problems I have are very annoying and disturbing. No more woods running before WOC and tape both feet from now on and ever(?).

Saturday Aug 11

Running 30:00 [1]
Orienteering race 1:00:00 [4]
ESOK. M35 - 7km. Tough Smalandish wilderness terrain. Great woods but hilly. The goal was to do a good race technically and I am happy with my navigation. Only missed one control, in a green area, with a minute or so + two 10-20 seconds mistake. But it was a tough day for running. Extremely humid. Almost 100% and hot. Rare for Sweden. I hadb't prepared at all for these conditions and already at the first water stop after 10 minutes, I gulped down three mugs of water. I was pretty much done after 30 minutes and it was only as long as I didn't do any mistakes I'd stay on the course. I took some extreme route choices on trails to avoid climb. In any case, much better navigation then Thursday and that is the main thing.

Thursday Aug 9

Orienteering race 1:00:00 [4]
Running 20:00 [1]
A very humbling experience at the club's championships (Bodafors). Got beaten by the club's top juniors with...many minutes. I did well first and last third but ran in to some problems in the middle third. Still experimenting with thumb compass and I can't decide.

Wednesday Aug 8

Orienteering 50:00 [1]
O @ Sävsjö N (naturpasset). relatively easy orienteering on a few years old map, but the legs appreciated it and running with a map is never wrong.

Tuesday Aug 7

Running 35:00 [1]
Running intervals 20:00 [5]
Intervals w/ Njudung. 20 x 40 on/20 off. I have never done those before and I held it back slightly not to overdo anything which is easy when running short intervals. Felt ok.

Monday Aug 6

Running 40:00 [1]
Easy run along the water.

Sunday Aug 5

Running intervals 35:00 [5]
Running 35:00 [1]
Made a loop and ran it 4 times, starting every 8.5 min. All times between 6.12 and 6.15. Ran without a watch.

Saturday Aug 4

Running 20:00 [1]
Orienteering 30:00 [1]
Orienteering 30:00 [3]
Back at Böda Sand and naturpasset. Ran on the same controls as a few weeks ago but came from different diretions so it was still a good technical workout.

Thursday Aug 2

Running intervals 40:00 [5]
Running 35:00 [1]
Pyramid intervals 123454321 x 1 min. Tough workout and I pushed hard.

Wednesday Aug 1

Orienteering 30:00 [1]
Orienteering 30:00 [3]
Running 20:00 [2]
Orienteering at Ängjärnsudden. Did much better today than last. Ran out of energy though so I didn't ran as fast as I had planned (perhaps that's why I did better - I ran slower...). Probably the travelling the last day(s) that hit me.
