Warm up. Due to jet-lag - no problem feeling awake.

Orienteering 1:03:15 [4] 10.25 km (6:10 / km) +80m 5:56 / km

It doesn't get much more fun than this
orienteering + relay + night = simply awesome.
ran with a big group and just stayed in the pack making sure I knew where we were going. everything was fine, no problems keeping the pace until my headlamp went black, and so did my spare after a few secs! and only halfway.
the downside with the new super bright lights are that they don't give you any warning about low battery. the old ones had a yellow light which indicated things were going to get dark eventually.
anyways, i managed to stay with the group for a few controls but i got passed by one after the other and then it was just me - alone walking in the woods. i did however know that more runners would come and soon enough a couple of teams came and their pace was bit slower so no problems keeping up with them despite no light. a bit fustrating that i didn't get the chance to run hard all the way in, but happy that i didn't lose more than 4 minutes or so. next runner ran well and caught the pack i had to drop so the damage was minimal.
team finished 11th overall, best placing since 2008 or 2007.

Morning jog trying to get ready for today's/tonight's relay. Running a night leg. First time running night for years and only second time since I moved to Canada. Going to be a hot day today - calling for high 20's.

Found a map from 1972 and re-ran a night-O course in an area I have never been to before. Cold and rainy today but fun to explore some new terrain but this area doesn't need to be re-mapped.

Half the temps compared with yesterday and hardly any humidity. Love it. Clear skies so no problem running late in the evening. Did a quick-ish 2.5K at the end. Feeling and effort was 3:40-3:45 min/km pace, but the watch stated 10 s slower. Oh well.

Running 31:01 intensity: (23:01 @1) + (8:00 @4) 5.97 km (5:12 / km) +80m 4:52 / km

Spent most of the day on the beach so definitely not springy legs but up one notch from Saturday's run and I'll take that. Ran three 2min 'intervals' with a minute rest between to see if that can bring my form up one more level.
