'Course of the week' at Fifflekull. New area. Nice course of middle distance character and nice woods. Pace was too slow to cause any mistakes.

Running 34:19 [4] 9.0 km (3:49 / km) +19m 3:46 / km

victorialoppet - 9k race. 34:19. not much to say about it. legs felt very sluggish during the day and i was a bit concerned prior to start but not an issue during the race. started in a controlled pace - 11:01 after 3k, started to pass people and the next 3k section took 11:40. obviously much slower but the we had left the road and hit some winding trails along the sea instead. the last couple of k's took us back to the road but some strong headwind and tight hamstring made it challenging to go any faster although i was still passing a few people. i didn't taper for this one at all so i am pretty pleased with the race. saturday's 5000m race and this one showed that i need to more speed work if i want to run faster; i simply can't run much faster than 3:40 today. but i doubt 3:30 capacity will help me in whistler, ottawa or boston anyway compared to being able to keep 3:45-4:15 min/km over longer time so i doubt i will hit the mac track or haaa for 200's and 400's any time soon.

an all off-trail run at böda. half in knee high blueberry bushes, very tough, and half in toe deep moss, not so tough but awesome.
