From Mud St area to home via rail trail. Plan was to follow BT but realized it would be dark. Tried to keep decent pace once I hit the rail trail.

Orienteering 50:18 [4] 8.96 km (5:37 / km) +56m 5:27 / km

E3 and another warm day. Open, fast terrain for half the course and challenging sand dune terrain the second half. Much better prepared today but did several small mistakes, esp in the beginning, when I decided to deviate from the straight line to check controls nearby. I lost perhaps 20-30 secs each time and since that happened a half- dozen times (27 controls in total) I can't be totally pleased with the race. The second highlight was to jump in to the sea immediately after the race.

Orienteering 1:04:20 [4] 9.65 km (6:40 / km) +189m 6:04 / km

E2 of Oringen. Great to be back, if only for two days, at Oringen. Had an early morning and after have taken the kids to start and shadowed Lia + the heat I only had energy for 10-15 minutes, but I ran well during those minutes. I did a couple of mistakes, no biggie, and enjoyed the terrain and the crowd.
