Note

Wahoo! We're now just above 100 AQI, so only 'Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups' and almost to 'Moderate'. Day care is back on and while it still smells like smoke outside (even after lots of rain overnight), it's now a low enough amount that an N95 mask can handle it (at least, wearing one, I can't smell the smoke. When above 300, you can still smell smoke through an N95). Really wonderful, now hope the showers can continue and we keep getting a breeze from the Pacific that's strong enough to get over the coastal range and keep the Willamette valley clear of smoke!

Also seems like the major rains overnight didn't hit in the recently burned zones, so no major reports of landslides/debris flows/flash floods so far...

Note

Also - had anatomy scan today, which shows a healthy little boy! (Not sure if I've noted we're having a boy on AP yet, but genetics showed that a bit ago!) Fun to see him!

Orienteering 39:44 [1] 3.66 mi (10:51 / mi)

This was soooo amazing! We picked up Sylvia from daycare and went straight to Champoeg State park to help the meet organizers with any controls they didn't feel sure about. The air was still a little iffy in Portland when we left, but it totally cleared up and just smelled so fresh and airy and amazing at Champoeg!

I ran around checking control placements, having a wonderful time. The park was nearly deserted - I don't think I've ever seen it this empty. Sylvia meanwhile *finally* got to take out her new b-day present for a spin: a pedal bike. She picked it up pretty quick! When I came back from this jaunt, she was able to pedal on her own.
