Training Log Archive: AliC

Wow- 689 firefighters from 27 states (AK, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, ID, KS, MI, MN, MS, MT, NM, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, WV, and WY) are currently assigned to the Riverside Fire, the nearest major fire to us. It started on 9/8/20 very close to a campground we camped at earlier this summer and is now 26% contained, but growing only very slowly and very well managed close to the settled areas it was approaching.

The next two major fires south (Beachie Creek and Lionshead) have merged and have nearly 2,000 total firefighters, including some from Canada here to help.

Just impressed with the hugeness of these fires, how much they have destroyed and the person-power now here to fight them!
