Phil's Long course at Forest Park
The idea was to sort of go glide-pace not full race-pace and mostly held to that- the steep ups made it easy to make the call to speed hike instead of run. Think I had wrong route choice to 4 (go take the trail!) and took an incorrect, unmapped trail to 8 which cost a little time. But the biggest two real mistakes were jumping into the woods immediately for #1 (too green!) and almost 180'ing it into the wrong reentrant to #9. On latter was wishy-washy on which side of marsh to go, needed to just commit and do it on a bearing and forget about other things!

Picking up controls with Sylvia, I navigated because harder than white and it was *hot* so a bit more focus on keeping it going. We did get to cross on one of the stone-wall pond crossings, which was one of the goals. But perhaps a bigger highlight was seeing an old soccer ball and frog at one of the control sites!
