Made it back to Flagstaff! It is soo green here - monsoon season is doing it's work!

Not that this will do much good after 3 weeks of not biking, but hopped on the bike for a little whirl before tomorrow's duathalon. Nice to be 'home', even if only for 4 days after the last 3 weeks of travel!

C • Fascinating location 6

Threw myself out of bed, into running clothes and out the door. Ran past the freight port where 4 refrigerated grocery-store trucks presumably contained the days worth of fresh groceries for the island.

Went ziplining first thing in the morning, so my long run ended up being midday in the baking sun. Ran up to the ridge again and then way around on East End Rd. Very few people, most at the top of the trail from the Botanic Garden.

Then more conference!

Easy morning joggeroo pre-conference along the coast. Found where I will go zip-lining tomorrow morning...

Woo, survived first conference day, including giving my invited talk on Secular Evolution. What in the world might that be? Astronomers use the word secular to mean 'slow and steady' - so ways that galaxies evolve that take a significant time (so in our books, a significant portion of the age of the Universe).

Anyways, after meeting, went out for an evening run. The trail I wanted to take was closed off because it goes through the botanic garden (what type of botanic garden to you have on a desert island?) so found another one and ran up it. Very pretty views, only one couple hiking down.
