Made it to Whitehorse!! Sylvia traveled relatively well, but it's kinda a workout just keeping such an active squirmer contained for the flights!!! our AirBnB in down town Whitehorse is super cute. A walk around town yesterday gave us a bit of a feel for the place and holy moly does the Yukon River really book it - it's carrying a lot of water at quite a high speed, impressive!
Canoe paddle with Tom and Steph and Dad during first nap (Mom nap-babysat), really nice with low wind. Then lots of chasing baby around this non-babyproof house, three different beach outings and a leisurely swim with Steph to Goode's rock and back.
Nice row around Haverkamp's island and then down around Cherokee island and back. Beautiful low-wind day again and calmer on the lake due to Monday. Hands are a bit blistered, but not too bad. Plus, really can't compare to the approximately 2 square inch blood blister on my right instep that happened during the relay...
Wanted to put in a hardish long effort so NAOC long isn't too much of a shock to the system. This felt pretty great, just kept cruising and was 7:30 avg pace for over 10 miles!
At Lake Kahshe! Sylvia wasn't too sure about letting me leave in the rowing scull, but seemed like she quieted down before I was too far away. Later in the day we did take her out in the canoe at least!
Rowed around the island in Deep Bay, amazingly quiet and non-windy.
