Didn't get up until midday for the first time in years...marvellous! Just walked round the Domain and lay in the grass before it started to rain.

Our usual teacher was away and we had this horrible lady taking us. Was SO not relaxing or fun at all! I think the whole class was relieved when it was over!

Slow first half but improved a bit once I got up into the Domain. It was a gorgeous morning.

Ended up walking to and from town from Ponsonby and then played 3 hours of laser strike. I'm buggered!

No class this week (or next week) but we got the whole rink to ourselves with the lights on and everything for the first hour. Brilliant.

Can't wait for Blades of Glory to finish downloading so we can have a bit of a laugh (and maybe even learn a thing or two!).

I'm savouring the early morning light before daylight savings arrives. Ran up to the Domain and through the tracks...so peaceful first thing. The trek up Bassett Road afterwards was a killer though.

Would have been an awesome session if there hadn't been that huge group of kids arrive after our class. We gave up early. Lots of backwards work with some mohawks and three turns. I felt like I was starting to get somewhere.

Caught and then passed my only competition by control 5. I eased off a little after that! Really quite cruisy and I had a lot of fun!

Looking for Mum as I wasn't going to sit around for another 20 minutes for them to send out the search party. Luckily she was all in one piece although she did say she had a bad fall at one point. But over 3 hours? At least she didn't seem too miserable.

It really wasn't my night tonight. Having trouble with my right skate...either I just can't get it tight enough (without it hurting the bridge of my foot) or my ankle is weak...or both. It's a real pain. But I passed another badge level so that was cool.

I was wrapped up like an eskimo tonight (even wore my tea cosy woollen hat)! After a day stuck at home in bed getting bored out of my brain I was feeling a whole lot better (helped by being rather dosed up on a whole lot of coldrel...that stuff is genius!). I just took class pretty easy (there was no way I was going to attempt that mohawk without the wall right next to me since my balance was off). We lost track of time after the class and ended up being on the ice a lot longer than I had intended.

A nice, gently undulating run through the fair suburb of Remuera and out to Meadowbank and round St Johns Park and Waiatarua Reserve. Found a good 2km stretch of grass to run along at one point which my legs especially appreciated! I'm not such a fan of afternoon runs though so it was tough work getting myself out the door (since I slept the entire morning which was an extremely rare feat for me...having a social life is exhausting!!).
