Walk 55:00 [3]

Exploring One Tree Hill. Too hot to run and the back of my knee is still a bit sore.

Saturday Nov 29, 2008 #

Orienteering race (Auckland Relays) 58:43 [3] *****
shoes: Jalas Black FLX

Umm, well I couldn't find the first control (again) which was a pretty bad start but once I finally found it the rest was okay. Too hot to think though.

Run 42:00 [2]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 3

Cruisey morning run with Ee. I got him to the top of One Tree Hill so that was quite an achievement. Good fun.

Walk 1:35:00 [2]

To and from an appointment. SO hot.

Thursday Nov 27, 2008 #

Orienteering race (SS Ambury Park) 35:03 [2]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 3

Course 2 with Jono. The back of my left knee is still a bit sore so we didn't tear around too fast. Jono's navigating was spot on so that was cool. The first part was a bit of a mass run really until we got past what felt like millions of kids (I think we lost them on the coast). Good fun. Breathing was better today...I didn't feel like I was dying.

Wednesday Nov 26, 2008 #

Run 54:43 [3] 10.1 km (5:25 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 3

Running home from work. Met Jono at Mt Eden as usual before continuing. Slight variation on last week's route to get home a little bit faster. The back of my left knee hurts. I think it's from the mountain biking :(

Tuesday Nov 25, 2008 #

Walk 50:00 [2]
shoes: Asics Gel 2120

Thought about running but there's too much of that coming up this week but I didn't feel like staying inside after such a crap day so walked up to the summit and back. Felt much better.

Monday Nov 24, 2008 #

Peloton (Spin) class 45:00 [5]
shoes: Louis Garneau Monte Rosa MTB

Sitting in the front row sucks!

Sunday Nov 23, 2008 #

MTB (MTBO Slater Road) 2:13:09 [3] ****

Jono did most of the navigating while I tried desperately to stay on the bike! We survived and got round the whole thing so that's a start (okay, so I sat under a tree for about 10 minutes while Jono did the pivot controls).

Friday Nov 21, 2008 #

Run 43:26 [3] 7.7 km (5:38 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 3

Running round some of the old routes at my parents. My legs were really tired so it was pretty slow.

Thursday Nov 20, 2008 #

Orienteering (SS Macleans Reserve) 1:16:59 [3] 5.8 km (13:16 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 3

My legs were feeling like death so it was a tough run (especially clambering round in the scrub). Jono again was the navigator and did a sterling effort...except when he took me all the way down a flight of stairs before realising we weren't supposed to go down there. Good fun (okay, not the stairs bit)!

Wednesday Nov 19, 2008 #

Run 57:00 [3] 10.4 km (5:29 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 3

Running home from work. Met Jono as usual at Mt Eden. We took the more scenic route back through One Tree Hill. Great run. Was fun beating the traffic along Newton Road.

Monday Nov 17, 2008 #

Peloton (Spin) class 1:00:00 [4]
shoes: Louis Garneau Monte Rosa MTB

Yay! Jannelle was back so there was lots of screaming and cheesy music. All good. Met up with Kath from the mtb course there too which was cool.

Sunday Nov 16, 2008 #

Run 1:07:56 [3] 12.0 km (5:40 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 3

Twice up the summit and round One Tree Hill. Why I decided to do a slightly longer version when I was feeling crappy I have no idea! Definitely feeling sluggish and tired today. The wind direction didn't exactly help either!

Saturday Nov 15, 2008 #

MTB (Mtb) 5:00:00 [2]

The women's mountain biking skills clinic at Woodhill. Don't think I'm much faster but definitely a bit more confident. Was a pretty tough day but fun.

Friday Nov 14, 2008 #

Walk 45:00 [2]

In the heat...not exactly the best of times.

Thursday Nov 13, 2008 #

Run 1:00:46 [3] 10.6 km (5:44 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 3

Up to the summit of One Tree Hill twice and round the road. The second summit was a killer after the long flat bits. At least the wind was sort of going the right direction! Felt a bit better afterwards which was something.

Wednesday Nov 12, 2008 #

Orienteering race (SS - Western Springs) 49:00 [4] 4.7 km (10:26 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 3

Honestly, I barely looked at the map since we only had one and Jono was navigating. He did pretty good. I was impressed.

Monday Nov 10, 2008 #

Peloton (Spin) class 45:00 [4]
shoes: Louis Garneau Monte Rosa MTB

Not nearly as bad as I was expecting it to be...my legs actually survived!

Saturday Nov 8, 2008 #

MTB race (P6 MTB leg 1) 1:52:00 [3] ****

Next time Jono can navigate while I attempt to navigate my way around the damn bike again. Me and bikes...not best of friends! But hey, it wasn't nearly as terrifying or difficult as the Autumn Challenge biking so that's something.

MTB race (P6 MTB leg 2) 25:00 [3]

Riding down to the google map part of the course and then back up. Crossing the fields at the bottom was like continuous judder-bars. Apart from hitting a rock on my way down and crashing into a fence all was good!

Orienteering race (P6 leg 2) 35:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Trabuco IX WR

We decided not to do that much of the google map area since the bits in the bush looked nasty and we figured we'd do better over on leg 3 as well as attempting some mystery activities. The heat was really getting to me and I felt terribly sluggish.

Orienteering race (P6 leg 3) 1:45:00 [3] ****
shoes: Asics Gel Trabuco IX WR

Damn the map not having contours! Not that it mattered that much since you could see for miles and you kind of got the idea of how the land was going to be. We managed to get all but one of the controls which was cool. We did, however, encounter the mud. The heat didn't seem to affect me quite as much by this stage (probably the mizone beforehand helped a lot).

Misc race (P6 Mystery Activites) 20:00 [2]
shoes: Asics Gel Trabuco IX WR

A collection of random activities. The baskets one had us running round in desperation (and a fair amount of frustration).

Run race (P6 leg 4) 20:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Trabuco IX WR

Running to and from the river with our tubes. Hard work when they're fully pumped up. 47 seconds late back which was pretty good considering I was worried we were going to have to bail in the river with Jono's cramp.

Misc (P6 Tubbing leg 4) 35:00 [3]

Swimming along the river for the final checkpoints. Jono got real bad cramp so I ended up helping him a long a bit by towing him in places. My tube must have got a puncture while I was out of the water getting a control so the second half was easier since a deflating tube is easier to swim with than one fully pumped up!

Friday Nov 7, 2008 #

Run 26:00 [2] 5.0 km (5:12 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 3

Out with Mum doing a "tigger" down to Eastern Beach. Good to stretch my legs and see some of my old running routes.

Walk 25:00 [2]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 3

Walking back home from the top of the stairs above Eastern Beach with Mum. She's walking really well now which is cool.

Wednesday Nov 5, 2008 #

Note

We were on our way to the summer series event but life conspired against us :(

Tuesday Nov 4, 2008 #

Run 24:00 [2] 4.7 km (5:06 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 3

Cruising round the streets somewhere near Orakei Domain while Jono was playing touch. Pretty gradual hills compared to the usual One Tree Hill summit so it felt pretty relaxed. Feeling a little stiff but otherwise everything else feeling good.

Monday Nov 3, 2008 #

Peloton (Spin) class 50:00 [4]
shoes: Louis Garneau Monte Rosa MTB

What the hell? What kind of class was that and where on earth was Jannelle?! I felt pretty cheated since it was supposed to be an hour and we only got 50 minutes (apparently this lady reckoned we'd all be wanting to get home for Shortland Street!).

Sunday Nov 2, 2008 #

Run 1:01:00 [3] 10.6 km (5:45 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 3

Round One Tree Hill and up to the summit twice from home. Encountered a traffic jam of cars up the top the second time and several crazy drivers. I actually felt good which was surprising since I didn't feel that great when I first left. The summit is a killer though.

Saturday Nov 1, 2008 #

MTB 2:00:00 [2]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 3

With Jono, Sandra and Natie on the half bike at Woodhill. I really should have been doing some more bike practice but I wasn't too shocking and most of it was fun!
