MTB 15:00 [2]

To and from Tom's. The hill was easier today.

Orienteering race (OY9 - Waiuku South) 1:14:08 [4] 6.54 km (11:20 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 285

Didn't exactly get off the greatest of starts. A bit shaky on 1 and 2 then shocking on 3 when I thought it was a hill but it was a depression. The open wasn't obvious from the left. Caught Craig at 5. He said he'd started after me so I was determined to get back in front and stay in front (turns out he started before me but it sure got me moving!). There was a train of about 4 or 5 of us at times and I kept finding myself at the front of this train. Exhausting work. They threw me at 12 where I went almost the right place but everyone else was way left. Control was a little to the right of me but I went a little left to look for it. Damn! Had fun but it is a cutty grass jungle out there.

Walk 1:00:00 [2]

Round OTH and up to the summit in the fading light. Needed some thinking room, fresh air and to stretch my tired legs. Was perfect.

MTB 20:00 [2]

To and from Tom's via the bank on the way there on my budget purple bike.

Orienteering race (OY8 - Waiuku South) 1:27:29 [3] 6.22 km (14:04 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 285

A nightmare! The first control was fine but then I proceeded to make error after error! Ran with Sandra (on course 3 but happened to have a string of about 4 controls the same) from 6 to 9. I think she was glad to have someone drag her along that first long leg from 6-7. The second long leg from 9-10 I realised a way better route choice half way but it was too late. Found the control all right but was a bit frustrated. Lovely cutty grass as always.

Run warm up/down 5:00 [2]
shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 285

Warm down jog with Sandra.

Run 50:34 [3] 9.5 km (5:19 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 5

Round the outer dirt track (and skirting the fields of calves) and round the inner road. Dirt track was intensity 2 but then there was some young dude behind me for the whole the road section so I raced him so that was a 4 (averaging at a 3!). Held him off until the very end where he passed me and then peeled off so I didn't get a chance to try and pass him again. Damn! Legs a bit tired. Probably was out a bit long but it was such an awesome morning.

Rowing Machine warm up/down 8:40 [4] 2.0 km (4:20 / km)

Oh yeah! Fastest equal time! Today actually felt relatively easy and I wasn't even pushing it until the last 500 metres. Sped up in the last half without really thinking about it but mostly had a pretty consistent pace which is quite rare for me. Why can't it be like this every time?!

Gym (weights and core) 1:25:00 [3]

Good session. Alex made me do some of my rotator cuff things at the beginning which hurt 'cause my shoulder is bung as usual but otherwise I felt pretty good for all the other stuff and my wrist barely screamed at me at all. Yay! Maybe I can stop wearing the bandage thing soon...?

Run warm up/down (treadmill) 22:00 [2]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 5

10 minutes warmup, 12 minutes warmdown. Legs felt awful to start with from all that standing at the concert last night...knees all achey and my right ankle was a bit funny. But it was fine after about 5 minutes. Was probably good to get them moving and was feeling surprisingly awake for next to no sleep. No doubt it will all catch up with me in a few hours.

Run intervals (treadmill) 20:00 [5]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 5

The usual...2-3 minute fast with 1 minute slow in between, mostly on an incline. Next time I should do them all on the incline since I wasn't feeling too bad. I do wonder why no one wants to be on the treadmills next to me though...I must smell really bad or something 'cause two people hopped on and then got off almost straight away!

Peloton (Spin) class intervals 45:00 [5]
shoes: Louis Garneau Monte Rosa MTB

Legs really feeling the burn of cycling 4 days in a row and body feeling the lack of sleep. Still felt pretty good though. Had a bit of a niggle in my left knee to start with but it went away. I think that was from yesterday's ride.

Gym (core and stretches) 20:00 [3]
