Rogaine race (Office Hours Rogaine) 6:55:00 [3]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Ascend 5

Roped in at the last minute by Clare (apparently I turned her down weeks ago so it's rather amusing that I ended up saying yes eventually after Emily and Cris went and injured themselves). She wasn't feeling too into it and more like a frolic in the hills than anything serious which was okay since I was pretty tired as well. I don't think our route worked in our favour in the end as we ended up trudging through swampy marshland for hours when we would have been better slogging up more of the big hills on the southern end of the map. We're good at uphill. Feeling okay but my feet hate me especially once they got wet (within about 10 minutes...and they never dried out). Once we got onto the hills it was fine but then it got colder and started to pour with rain in the last hour which was quite miserable. Add to that searching around for a control that was misplaced as well as not eating enough in the last couple of hours and you have a very grumpy katie!

Road Bike 50:00 [3]
shoes: Louis Garneau Revo XR

From home up to SOK via Hackthorne Rd and Victoria Park and back with Michael. I got really grumpy at him when he had so much energy and I was exhausted! But it's no where near as tough as it used to be and my downhill is slowly improving as well. The strong gusts of wind lower down the hill on the descent were a bit scary though.

Run long 1:38:25 [3]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Ascend 5

Started out with Michael up Major Aiken but his leg wasn't feeling too good so I had to do a bit of a tigger. Then at the top of Kenmure it was too bad so he walked back down the hill and I kept going. Up the Huntsbury to the top of Mt Vernon then along the tops and down the Harry Ell to the dog park and along the track to Holliss then home. Pretty much crashed in the last 30ish minutes on the downhill. Should have taken my backpack like last time.

The uphills are feeling awesome these days and I sometimes think I should push a bit harder but then I die so much on the epic downhill at the end I'm not sure it's a good idea. I can imagine being a puddle on the track and having to get Michael to come rescue me!

Note

Booked our flights for Sprint the Bays...and now worried it's a silly idea.

Run warm up/down (treadmill) 10:00 [3]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 6

Michael decided a trip to the gym might entertain me so we headed off to the Pioneer Fitness Centre. Started off with a warmup on the treadmill. It always makes you feel good about yourself because everyone else is going at snail pace.

Gym (weights and core) 45:00 [3]

Lots of legs and arms weights. Seemed pretty good considering we climbed yesterday. Wish I could do pull ups though. Then I'd be an awesome climber! Did some sit ups too on the scary bench. Then we both finished with a 500 metre row. Next time perhaps we'll try the dreaded 2000 metre challenge...

Run 51:26 [3]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Ascend 5

Run home from work via the hilly route in the hot sun. Feeling pretty good but near the end my hip felt a bit sore and I got the stitch for the first time in years. So weird. Hopefully things start to return to normal now my big deadline has passed.
7 PM

Climbing (indoor - TR) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Five Ten Anasazi Verde

At The Roxx with Michael and Cris. I can't believe they managed to convince me to leave my new piano for a couple of hours!! Felt pretty weak and tired (too much sugar today and a very hot run) but did okay since we haven't been in ages.
