Orienteering race (Groynes Score Event) 39:50 [4]
shoes: Inov-8 Roclite-285

Fun little score event but with a few too many things for my brain to try and remember. Did the first 9 controls thing but then got another 10 controls before realising I'd got too many for the next 9 so went round and got them all instead. Found a transformers mask at the 3rd control but decided against attempting to wear that but then found a lei up the northern end of the map (someone had already taken the skirt unfortunately). Much better for running with. Tried to run fast.

Walk 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 5

I really wanted to go for a hill run today but was just feeling so worn out so decided to go for a walk. Originally was going to carry a heavy backpack as well but just getting out the door seemed to hard by the evening. Walked up the usual way and bumped into Jana running down from the dog park. She decided to join me for the rest of my walk and I stopped for a cup of tea at their house on the way home. Then I panicked that Michael might be worried so ran home from their house. He just thought I'd decided to go for a super long walk.

Nice little ride with Clare but we were pushing the light at the end! Cruised up Rapaki (although she did make me do a fast interval at one point), along Mt Vernon and the traverse track then down the super cool single track at Worsleys. Can't wait to ride that again!

Strength and Conditioning (Work Wellness Bootcamp) 50:00 [3]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 7 (blue)

Took it a bit easier 'cause my lower back feels really weird and uncomfortable on some angles. Modified a few things to help out.

Run 47:16 [3]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 7 (blue)

Nice gentle(ish) run home from work along the river. Back feels okay running as long as I don't go too fast. I should probably start carrying a bit more in my backpack on these runs too.

Long, sunny ride with Michael, Emily and Chris. We started at Castle Hill Village and rode up the road, turning off at the gravel road to the Craigieburn ski field. Grunted up the hill (there were keas and ice on the road further up). Then along the single track to Lyndon Saddle. I really struggled on this section as the dropoff was on the side I normally unclip on and it was just plain terrifying. We got Emily and Chris to ride on ahead about halfway along while we decided to cut down from the saddle to the road and ride round to the Hogs Back and meet them there. Turned out we should have just followed them as the Dracophyllum Flat track was apparently quite nice (mostly). Anyway, at the saddle I decided we should tackle the Luge track instead of just going straight down to the road. Finally, started to feel like I could ride things again. Then it was a grunt back round the road then up another access road to the start of Hogs Back. We then rode together along the awesome single track back to the car. It was quite possibly the most awesome single track I've ever ridden. SO much fun! Plus I was hooning along and mostly keeping up with Emily. So apart from struggling a lot to start with things did improve and it was heaps of fun. We will have to tackle the whole thing again.

Paired up with Ian for the first half and was quite determined to show my boss up...which wasn't all that hard but I gave it everything I had! He left after half an hour (I wish I could say it was because he felt overawed by my awesomeness but no) so got to do double the amount of punching as the other girls in the last section as there was an uneven number. I am going to be so buff you won't even recognise me by the time I leave this place. Haha...

Then I biked over to meet Michael at Raeward Fresh and filled up my Macpac bag to the brim with vegetables so it was good training biking home after that (Michael only had his small bag so couldn't take much...I think this was a deliberate plan).

Oh man I am so awesome (just ignore my super excitedness here)! Went night riding by myself up Rapaki, round Mt Vernon, the traverse track and then down through Vic Park...WITHOUT PANICKING!!! Oh Yeah :P
Actually, night riding by yourself gives you this beautiful expanse of space to think about the world. It was so quiet and beautiful up there tonight.
